Walking Group Leader
This is the 'entry level' nationally recognised qualification for leading groups in the outdoors. A Walking Group Leader will have the skills to plan, organise and lead groups safely in the lower, less remote areas of the UK (essentially day walks avoiding high mountain country.) This award is the ideal qualification for leaders / supervisors of D of E scheme.
The award is divided into 3 distinct parts comprising: 3 days training; a period of consolidation, when candidates further develop personal hill skills; and finally a 3 day assessment.
The training and assessment elements are residental. We usually operate in the Peak District, although we can base this award at any suitable venue within the UK.
