Mountain Leader
The Summer ML is the award that enables a leader to confidently take groups to higher, more remote areas of the UK on multi-day expeditions. These expeditions may include overnight camps and the ascent of summits.The 6 day initial training course is residental and includes an expedition element with overnight camp. This training maybe over 2x3 day weekends.
A consolidation period follows, to include 40 quality mountain days experience as an absolute minimum, prior to presenting for the 5-6 day residential assessment.

A valid first aid certificate is a pre-requisite for this award, which is managed by Mountain Leader Training England (MLTE.org). Our course director for this award is usually Vin Michin, MIC who has a wealth of experience in its administration, instruction and assessment procedures. The student instructor ratios are 1:6 for training and 1:4 for assessment.
