Mountain Leader
The Summer ML is the award that enables a leader to confidently take groups to higher, more remote areas of the UK on multi-day expeditions. These expeditions may include overnight camps and the ascent of summits.The 6 day initial training course is residental and includes an expedition element with overnight camp. This training may be over 2x3 day weekends.
A consolidation period follows, to include 40 quality mountain days experience as an absolute minimum, prior to presenting for the 5-6 day residential assessment.
You are required to register with your relevant Mountain Leader Training Board prior to attending ML training courses, be sure to bring your logbook along to the course with you.

A valid first aid certificate is a pre-requisite for this award, which is managed by Mountain Leader Training England (MLTE.org). Our course director for this award is usually Vin Michin, MIC who has a wealth of experience in its administration, instruction and assessment procedures. The student instructor ratios are 1:6 for training and 1:4 for assessment.
